We visited Australia in 1999 to see Tara's cousin get married in Geelong, just south of Melbourne.
We then hired a car and drove up to Sydney (this took about 5 days). We took the inland route
which crossed us over the snowy mountains - where we got to experience the first snow of the season.
All the fresh snow on the snow gums was very scenic - just not quite what you picture seeing
when you go on a holiday to Australia. We hadn't really packed for this kind of weather either, at this point I
brought a wooly hat here which I ended up wearing for the rest of the holiday.
We spent two days in Sydney
where we were constantly rained on, before heading up to the Blue Mountains to spend a couple of days
with one of Trev's cousins.
We did a heck of a lot of driving on this trip,
and really would have liked to have had longer than the week we did to really enjoy it.
